Never Miss an Important Call Call Waiting alerts you to incoming calls while you're already on a phone call. This feature places your first call on hold while you answer the second incoming call. How to Switch Between Calls While you are on the phone, a beep tone alerts you of another incoming call. If you have Caller ID, the second phone number will display on your Caller ID device. To accept the call, press the flash button or switch hook on your phone. The first call will be place on hold while you answer the second call. Pressing the flash button or switch hook on your phone again will return you to the first call. Unanswered calls will forward to your voicemail.
